In Microbiology last semester, I had a difficult time finding photos of the common positive/negative test results. The textbook results are picture perfect, and didn’t help much when I was trying to differentiate between two very similar organisms.
So, in the hopes of helping future Micro students with their unknown identifications I decided I should photograph some of the tests, innoculations, and streak plates that were performed by me- a student. Not a professional microbiologist. In retrospect, I should’ve opened the streak plates to photograph them but live and learn.
Good luck with your unknown IDs. And enjoy the photos!
